We beg to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter of the 18th instant, reference 92640/32 regarding

the transfer of the Government wireless services in Hong

Kong to this Company, and in reply to inform you that we

are prepared to agree the amendments to the draft

supplementary agreement proposed by the Governor, which

are set out in your letter under reply.

Regarding paragraphs 2 and 3 of your letter

we note that the Governor has asked that the Company

may be pressed to arrive at a decision without delay

in regard to taking over the wireless services, and you

suggest that if the Company agrees the alterations to

the main agreement, suggested in your previous letters,

we should proceed with the preparation of the revised

draft of the main agreement as soon as possible.

3.

As you are aware, the supplementary agreement

was originally drafted on the assumption that it would

be signed either at the same time or subsequent to the

completion of the main agreement. The Company has

been prepared for some time to take over the working

of the existing services but it is not in a position at

the present time to commit itself to the terms of the
